Manitoba Looking For Marketers

The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) issued a request for proposal (RFP) from qualified design and marketing agencies to help it create a holiday-themed public education campaign about cannabis.

“The intent of this campaign is to align messaging and creative with the holiday season in conjunction with low-risk strategies for cannabis,” the RFP reads. “The successful candidate will work closely with the LGCA to ensure the creative meets the objectives described below. The LGCA plans to begin running this campaign beginning in late November 2021.”

The campaign should work with the LGCA’s previous campaigns on responsible cannabis consumption as well as address issues like cannabis consumption and cannabis gift-giving during the holidays. According to the LGCA, research shows that while Manitobans use cannabis regularly, there is still a need for public education, especially surrounding new products and how to consume them safely. Additionally, since the campaign will run in both French and English, it will have to work well in both languages and even though it’s holiday-themed, it should be non-denominational. The campaign may include things like billboards, transit and newspaper advertising, social media ads and videos, and display materials for licensed retailers in the province.

The deadline for submissions is August 9, 2021. For more information contact lhandsen@LGCAmb.ca.
