Top Complementary Flavours

After Cannabis 2.0 in October 2018, chocolate was off to a dominant start in the Canadian market, capturing an average of 65% of edible sales in seven months. The trend has settled, with a 2021 Brightfield Group report suggesting for those that preferred edibles, 46% said that gummies were their favourite, followed by chocolate at 35%.

According to Brightfield, in January 2022, plain chocolate-flavoured THC chocolate is the most common, with 57% shelf share in the United States. Mint, caramel, espresso, raspberry, and almond are five flavours commonly paired with chocolate for delicious flavour combinations.

Up and Coming Flavour: Pomegranate

Pomegranate flavour in cannabis chocolates is on the rise. Since September 2021, pomegranate has tripled from 0.1% to 0.3% nationwide distribution in the US.

As edibles technology improved, cannabis chocolates are tasting better than ever.
