Most categories saw an increase in sales from the prior year quarter. Inhalable extract sales were up 60.7%, pre-roll sales were up 17%, and edibles sales were up 13.8% compared to last year’s quarter. Flower sales, however, were down 6.5%. Seeds also saw a 16.4% drop in sales.

Flower and ingestible extract sales saw more even splits. Indica represented 50% of sales in Q4 2022 followed by Sativa at 26.6% and Hybrid at 23.2%. In the ingestible extracts category, oils and tinctures took 40% of sales followed by capsules and pills at 31.6% and other ingestible extracts at 28.3%.

Cartridges and other inhalable extracts had the strongest sales in the inhalable extracts category at 54.1% and 32.4% respectively. Creams and lotions dominated the topical sales category at 47.2% followed by balms at 24.3% and bath products at 21.8%.

Direct Delivery Program Sales

The report also includes sales from the LDB’s Direct Delivery Program, which launched in August 2022 and continues to grow.

There was 469,421 grams of cannabis sold through direct delivery in Q4 totaling $2,459,766 in sales. The average price per gram for all cannabis was almost $1 higher at $5.24, while the price per gram for flower was $4.19.

Although the amount of cannabis sold through the program in Q4 was more than that sold in Q3 under the direct delivery category, the dollar value of sales was down slightly due to the declining cost of products within the program.
