8 First Nations Stores Authorized in Ontario

The AGCO has notified eight First Nations that they can apply for one of the available store authorizations to operate a store on a First Nations reserve in Ontario.

Applications started being accepted on July 31st and were allocated on a first come, first served basis. This is the second phase of Ontario’s lottery for cannabis licences.

The locations of the proposed stores on the reserves had to be approved by the First Nations Band Council.

The following First Nations have been notified that they can apply for an authorization: Shawanaga First Nation, Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve # 26, Chapleau Cree First Nation, Wahgoshig First Nation, Couchiching First Nation, Nipissing First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, and Serpent River First Nation.
