9 Canna Cabana stores coming to Alberta

High Tide is celebrating the lifting of Alberta’s cannabis retail licence moratorium with 9 more Canna Cabana stores opening in the province soon.

Due to a steady increase in the cannabis supply, the AGLC announced last week they will start accepting new retail licence applications and issuing five licences per week, while continuing to monitor supply.

Shortly after, High Tide Inc., the parent company of Canna Cabana and KushBar stores, announced 9 Canna Cabana licenses have been approved by the province, with 23 additional locations in various stages of development. This morning, one of those locations was confirmed to be in Grand Prairie. There are 4 Canna Cabana locations already open in Alberta.

High Tide said it “expects its next licence to be issued within the next two weeks and all nine approved stores to be licensed to sell cannabis products in the near term, barring any changes by AGLC.”

Fire & Flower announced a similar roll-out schedule in Alberta, saying it has six fully built locations waiting to be approved by AGLC. The company is continuing to build out additional stores and plans to open them in the third and fourth quarters of 2019.
