The deadline for potential contractors to apply to renovate future Quebec stores is a few days away.
The deadline is Feb. 3, no later than 10 a.m. local time. Requests for contractors were first announced on Dec. 23, 2019. The expected length of the contract is 36 months. The successful contractor or contractors will renovate the SQDC branches.
In its strategic development plan, The Société québécoise du cannabis (SDQC) “continues to deploy its network of branches” across the province. “To carry out these projects, the SQDC wishes to award one or more contracts to contractors who will be responsible for fitting out the new SQDC branches.”
The work, according to the request, would involve the “transformation of the sales areas, the adaptation of certain service rooms and the minor renovation of the back shops.”

Back in May 2019, the SQDC announced that it planned to open an additional 43 branches within the province by March 31, 2020 in addition to its 14 that were operational at the time. During that announcement, SQDC stated it had signed three leases to open three new branches, as well as another three that were set to open shortly after.
Quebec had the third highest cannabis sales in the country in November 2019. It generated $29.81 million from its 31 stores.
